Shaolin
In early Republican China, about 100 years ago, feuding warlords were trying to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fueled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant warlord Hou Jie Sneers at Shaolin’s masters after killing a rival on temple grounds. Soon he is overthrown by his deputy. Cao Man, who feels used by Hou and wants better. With his wife lost and daughter killed, Hou is forced to take refuge in Shaolin temple. He is filled with hatred, but Hou gradually comes to understand Buddhism and Shaolin’s principles through study and practicing martial arts. He finds peace and enlightenment, becomes a monk and decides to mend his ways. Finally, in order to protect Shaolin temple, monks and refugees, Hou and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against Cao and his army.
