Jingdezhen’s Porcelain Art
Jingdezhen is Chinese renowned porcelain capital with a very long history. The town got Jingde as its name, the reign title of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty in the first year of his reign (AD 1004) for its exquisite craftsmanship in porcelain making. Ever since then the town has become famous. Over thousands of years, generations of artisans constantly improved their skills. Fine porcelain products embodying rich Chinese culture have been sent to Europe and even Africa along the land and maritime Silk Road. Now Jingdezhen’s porcelain-making by hand has been listed as state-level intangible cultural heritage. Master Huang Yunpeng is one of the national inheritors of this art. After his graduation from Jingdezhen Porcelain Institute, Master Huang has devoted himself to porcelain-making and its research. He achieved remarkable success and is a prolific expert in this field.
